How to Figure Out a Subject’s First Mistake

In this informative and interactive session Nick and Paul will provide training on tracking a "lost person" by following their mistakes. They will utilize lost person behavour to analyze decision making points and looking at geographical pieces that funnel people into high probable areas. Participants will have a hands-on opportunity working with mapping during this session (a link will be forwarded to each participant for download).

 

Nick Rivers is a Search and Rescue (SAR) Manager with Arrowsmith SAR He is an instructor for Ground SAR and Ground Search Team Leader, Code 3 Driving, Electronic Search Specialist and Lost Person Behaviour. Also trained in Rope Rescue and Swiftwater Rescue.

Paul Berry (MEd) is a member of the Comox Valley Search and Rescue, is a Level 2 Search Manager in the Province of BC. He is a Search Management instructor with the Justice Institute of BC and also instructs Incident Command and Lost Person Behaviour. He has extensive experience in diverse command roles both in large scale search operations and during the 2018 wildfires.
