BC Hydro is a Crown corporation, owned by the government and people of British Columbia. It's our job to safely provide our customers with reliable, affordable and clean electricity throughout the province. We are one of the largest energy suppliers in Canada, generating and delivering electricity to 95 per cent of the population of British Columbia. We operate an integrated system backed by 30 hydroelectric plants and two thermal generating stations, as well as approximately 78,000 kilometres of transmission and distribution lines. As a utility that operates in a high hazard industry, safety is always top of mind and we are continuously working to improve our performance by understanding hazards, ensuring appropriate design of assets, related work procedures and competencies.

Established in 1964, Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) is the national industry association representing Canada’s private home, auto and business insurers.

Its member companies represent 90% of the Canadian property and casualty (P&C) insurance market. IBC works on a number of fronts to increase public understanding of home, auto and business insurance.

Public understanding is also fostered through IBC’s five regional consumer centres, where trained personnel with years of industry and government relations experience answer tens of thousands of consumer inquiries each year.
